He's Working on Behalves

Posted on February 13, 2015 at 4:35 PM

There’s a scripture in the Bible where the Apostle Paul tells us, “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things”(Philippians 4:8). What we keep our focus on is so important; for what we focus on usually tends to sway our decisions and our actions.

God wants us to focus on the good things He has for us, which are far greater than what we see around us. Unfortunately, too many of us give up when we experience tough times. We stop focusing on what’s going well in our lives, and begin placing emphasis on what’s going wrong. Next, we start limiting our expectations, and pretty soon, we stop expecting anything good to happen at all.

The truth of the matter is that hardships and trials will come, but how we face them is makes the difference. We should see these times as opportunities for us to go higher in the things of God. He allows our faith to be stretched in ways that are sometimes uncomfortable. Rest assure, whatever struggles we’re going through, no matter how large or small…they are subject to change. We simply must have the fortitude to decide where our focus lies. Are we going to look at our situations and circumstances with our natural eyes and mindset, or are we going to see things through the spiritual lenses that God gave us? Are we going to falter? Or will we remain steadfast, knowing that God has our back?

Whatever our lot is in life right now, we must decide to focus on God’s word. He said that He would never leave nor forsake us. Focus on His promises, for they are sure. Focus on the fact that no matter what it looks like, God is working behind the scenes on our behalves.
