About Dr. Wy

Dr. Wylene Martin, affectionately referred to as “Dr. Wy” is the wife of, Dr. Marcus E. Martin, and serves as Co-Pastor of Faith in Action International Ministries.  A woman of virtue, poise, and grace, Dr. Wy is known for her unconditional love and encouragement that she pours wholeheartedly into the lives of others. As a popular keynote speaker, Dr. Martin's love for girls and women alike is evident as she preaches, teaches, and mentors with passion on the topics of self-esteem and purpose.  Along with her blog that Dr. Wy writes regularly, she has recently added published author to the list of her many accomplishments; with her latest book entitled, "Fearfully and Wonderfully Made, That's Me: Applying Godly Principles to Discover the Real You." 

 

She is also the founder of Fearfully & Wonderfully Made Inc., a non-profit organization, whose mission is to reach women of all ages through mentoring and developing relationships via conferences, programs, workshops, and other services that meet them at their point of need, enabling them to discover their true identities and purpose in life.

 

Dr.  Martin holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Morris Brown College, and a Master’s degree in Post-Secondary Education from Troy University. She also received her Doctorate in Theology from Pentefaith Biblical Institute and Studies. As a Certified Christian Counselor, she also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Christian Counseling from Christian Bible Institute & Seminary. Dr. Wy currently teaches 8th Grade Language Arts at Holub Middle School in Houston, TX, where she had the awesome privilege of being named "Teacher of the Year" for 2014.

 

Dr. Martin demonstrates true poise, character, and wisdom, as she handles her obligations to serve in ministry alongside her husband. She is a model woman of God and takes her responsibilities as a wife, mother and servant of the kingdom very seriously. Dr. Marcus and she are the proud parents of Leonard Sr., Dara, Moriah, and Shelaswau. They also have seven wonderful grandchildren.

 

Dr. Wy believes that women are empowered spiritually, mentally, and emotionally when they come to realize that their true identity lies in Christ. Furthermore, they must know how fearfully and wonderfully made they are, and that God has a purpose and plan specifically for each of them.
